First Grade Christmas Service Project
This year at Freeman, we have decided to do away with the $5 gift exchange at our Christmas Parties.
INSTEAD, we are going to be doing community service projects.
Each grade level will be doing some project to help others during the holiday season.
First Grade Community Service Project is called:
Soldiers Call Home (Calling Cards for Deployed Soldiers)
This program provides much needed calling cards during the holidays for deployed soldiers, allowing them to call their loved ones while oversees. We can all help our troops stay in touch with their families by buying them phone cards.
We are asking students to donate $5 (money they would of used to buy a gift for the gift exchange) so we can buy calling cards for soldiers. We will also be making Christmas cards to send overseas. OR if you would like to purchase a calling card to send with our contribution that would be awesome as well. Calling cards may be purchased at Wal-Mart, super markets, and other local stores.
